Brief Biography

Klaus Hoffmann-Holland is University Professor at Freie Universität Berlin and holds the chair of Criminology and Criminal Law. He received his law degrees from Justus-Liebig Universität Gießen (Dr. iur. 2000; Dr. iur habil. 2005, venia legendi criminology, criminal law, juvenile justice and corrections). Prior to his appointment in Berlin, he served as a public prosecutor and as a judge. He taught at University of Gießen and University of Warwick, School of Law. In 2005 he was awarded the Dr.-Herbert-Stolzenberg-Prize for jurisprudence. He is the author of several books and articles on criminal law, criminal procedure and criminology.
