"Back at my home university, I keep benefiting every single day from the knowledge and means I learnt during my semester at CTLS. I think this is extraordinary. We, the past CTLS students, have now a different approach to the subjects we are taught, an approach which is wider and finally connected to today's reality. It is indeed an approach which the average student seldom has. In short, I face everyday the fundamental role CTLS played in my academic career."

Admission is competitive and enrollment is limited to approximately 70-100 students each semester. To be considered for admission, students must have completed foundational legal studies and thus be prepared for and capable of advanced legal studies. There is a presumptive requirement that all participants hold a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) or higher.

Most  seats at CTLS are reserved for students from the Center's global partner schools, which generally view it as an honors program and nominate students on a highly selective basis. A limited number of spots are also available to highly qualified law students from non-partner law schools. These applicants are referred to as "independent candidates."

Independent candidates from U.S. law schools should note that the semester abroad program offered by CTLS is approved by the ABA.
